The first day of shooting I recorded in my house. I recorded all the scenes with Jack at his house on day 1.

The second day of shooting was recorded in the production room at Sunderland college, this was the footage of the scientist knowing that Jack was not believing in the virtual reality he was in.

The Film I used simple however effective editing in my film. I used white on black text as it suggests good and evil. It's also simple and stands out well. To make this I added a a graphic to the screen with text. For all my scenes I cut out unwanted parts like '3,2,1 action' and any laughing at the start or end. I did this by using the Razor tool. This allows me to have the footage precisely how I want it. Here is where I added audio into my production. I used music I downloaded that I believed fit the scenes and created a calm tone in the scene. I also used a sound effects like fire crackling when paper was burning and also a death sound effect when the bad guy was punched. Trailer The editing for the trailer used a lot of quick cuts and made it fast paced so the viewer is more engaged. It also gives the impression of chaos. What did I use to film/edit? -I used a cannon camera to record -I used a 16gb SD card to store the footage -I used premier pro to edit the footage My editing techniques -I used the razor tool to cut apart footage -I put sci-fi sounds over scenes like the one which the scientist, this shows the scientists is in a laboratory -I got sounds of a camera to go over the security -I used a lot of static to create suspense and confusion, the confusion makes the audience wonder what is going on Did I meet the code and conventions of my genre? -Used static which added a lot of suspense, which I think fits under the mystery genre - I used the sci-fi sounds over the laboratory scene which fits under the sci-fi genre -I used the piano effect at the end to fulfill the drama effect, it should influence the way the audience feel about the ending and they should feel sad Alone (Directors commentary)

Continuity editing Continuity editing is when shots are edited together, or different components cut from a single shot, into a logical sequence so the viewer's attention is directed to a story across both time and physical location. It creates an illusion of continuous action, hence the viewer will not notice the transition between shots and their focus will be narrative-driven. None continuity editing None continuity is when shots are mismatched to disrupt the impression of time and space. This will get the audiences' attention directed to the process of cutting and disturbs the illusion of 'reality'. Montage, flashback, and jump cuts are examples of non continuity editing.
